How to Banish Your Anxiety One Moment at a Time.

Ready to overcome the thoughts that are holding you back?

Dr. Julieta Rubio Hobbs, PhD, LPC-S, NCC
Holistic Counselor in San Antonio

When life overwhelm starts taking over your mind and body it can feel impossible to untangle “the mess”.

I believe in counseling that is inclusive of mind, body, and spirit.

As a holistic counselor I have developed an approach that incorporates different strategies and treatment methods. During our work together we will identify which ones will best serve you and help you reach your goals.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral therapy helps you address the racing thoughts that take over and helps you learn how to make new patterns and beliefs through thoughts. Break down the negative patterns and create a new cycle for your life.

Mindfulness & Yoga

Practice learning to be in the moment and give yourself permission to melt away the constant worry that rises in the back of your mind. Gain a deeper connection with yourself.

Energy Work & EMDR

Address the emotions that are trapped in your energetic body and learn to move the negative energy using tapping techniques. Once we clear your blocks we can create new adaptive pathways with eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

Holistic Counselor

Kind, caring, and non-judgmental.

Our counseling relationship will be a role model for you- to instill kindness in how you treat yourself. I strive to create a caring and nonjudgmental space for you, where you can feel heard and set down your worries, if only for a moment. As a holistic counselor my goal is to help bring relief to you- for you to be able to breathe a little easier and feel  a little lighter after our session.

I have developed a holistic counseling approach that treats you as a whole person, taking into account your mind, body, and spirit. Our work together will incorporate not only traditional theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing but also alternative theories like Mindfulness, Energy Work, Yoga, Nutritional and Integrative medicine.

Because you’re human.

Because “it’s complicated”.

Because you matter too.

More About Me

As a woman of color, I value the importance of alternative medicine and treating the mind, body, and spirit. This has led me to train in modalities that are holistic and attentive to the whole person. Additionally, working in community outpatient and inpatient clinics in the past I understand the complexity of life stressors and the impact they can have on various parts of our mental health and wellbeing.

I also specialize in multicultural issues and first generation issues. In addition, I understand the struggle and stress that arises when navigating culture clashes or the expectations of others in your work life and personal life. I bring expertise in cultural sensitivity not only through my personal experiences but also my professional experiences. Uniquely, I received a Minority Fellowship award through the National Board for Certified Counselor (NBCC). I have also done extensive research and presentations around serving Latinx people and providing culturally appropriate Mental Health and Wellness services.

I have served as an adjunct professor teaching and supervising master and doctoral level student counselors at a Hispanic-Serving University. Accordingly, I have also provided consulting to students, faculty, and staff in medical school, pharmacy, and physical therapy schools.
